Mission and Vision

Mission

The European Keto Foundation advances excellence and integrity in the field of ketogenic diet implementation through professional education and public trust initiatives. Guided by our Medical and Scientific Committee, we disseminate evidence-based standards that ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of products, educational programs, and practitioner practices related to ketogenic diets.

We are dedicated to promoting informed care, responsible innovation, and lifelong learning among practitioners and organizations working within this discipline. Through transparent certification processes, continuing education, and community collaboration, the foundation safeguards both professional competence and public well-being in the rapidly evolving landscape of ketogenic therapies.

Vision

“The science is clear; the challenge is everyday life.”

We envision a Europe where evidence-based ketogenic nutrition is simple, safe, and supported in practice.

Governance

How the Board Operates

The Board governs the European Keto Foundation in line with its statutes and Dutch foundation law. Members serve voluntarily and meet regularly to set strategic direction, approve budgets, and oversee the Foundation’s activities. Decisions are made collectively, with each board member individually authorized to represent the Foundation. Specialized committees — Medical & Scientific, Certification, Product, and Advisory — support the Board with expert guidance, ensuring transparency, accountability, and independence from commercial interests.
